Mrs. Wilson: Lead Teacher / Director How many people are in my family? My
husband and I have 3 children: 6th grade, 3rd grade, and Kindergarten. What are my favorite foods? More About Me: I have a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute in Chicago. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood from UNI. I’ve taught several grade levels including bilingual kindergarten, preschool, Head Start, first grade and K-3 Spanish. I have additional teaching endorsements in Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Reading. Our family loves learning about other cultures and traveling. For two and a half years, we lived overseas in Brazil for my husband's position. We have three kids, ages 12, 9, and almost 6 years old. I stayed home with them for many years and returned to work a few years ago as my daughter entered Pre-K. I'm very passionate about teaching through child centered learning and the Project Approach. Mrs. Skahill: Associate Teacher How many people are in my family? I have one daughter who is a senior at Central College in Pella. We live in the country near Earlham, and my parents are 1/4 mile away on the farm where I grew up. What hobbies do I have? I love reading, sitting on my porch enjoying the quiet country, and spending time with my family. My daughter and I like watching movies together. Eating out is always fun too! What are my favorite foods? Pasta What is my favorite children's book? I love the "Otis the Tractor" books, by Loren Long. There are six of them, and their stories and pictures are wonderful! More About Me: I attended Central College in Pella, and received a masters in elementary counseling from Iowa State University. I have 38 years of elementary teaching/counseling experience, having worked with every age from preschool through 8th grade. I retired from Van Meter in May, 2018, after serving as a teacher and elementary counselor for the past 19 years. I am so excited to begin a new chapter in Pre-K!
