We are pleased to announce that the Van Meter Community School District will be adding a PreK program for the 
2020-2021 school year and will be replacing the 
Van Meter Community Pre-Kindergarten! We are proud to have served our community for 40 years and are excited about these changes taking place and have been partnering with the district during this transition process!

2020 - 2021 4-Year Old Preschool Registration Information


  • For students who turn 4 by September 15, 2020

  • The registration form will open on Friday, January 10 at 7:00 A.M.

  • It will be first come first serve for the AM / PM sessions

  • Maximum of 20 students in each section (per morning and afternoon session)

  • Monday - Thursday (A.M. = 8:15 - 11:15   / P.M. = 12:30 - 3:30)

  • Buses available for the A.M. arrival session and the P.M. dismissal session

  • No before school or after school daycare available

  • Breakfast and hallway supervision begins at 7:45 A.M.

  • No School on Fridays

  • Tuition-Free Program

  • Will follow the same calendar as our TK-12 students, besides Fridays

  • Openings will be filled by resident students, before non-resident students 

  • Non-resident students that are enrolled in preschool are not guaranteed a spot in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten at Van Meter the following school year (school’s open enrollment policy will be followed)
